AI Scientist I/II, Generative Modeling for Materials Science at Lila Sciences
Interview Preparation Plan
Lila Sciences is pioneering a new era of scientific discovery through "scientific superintelligence," integrating AI, robotics, and custom software to automate the entire scientific method. This role focuses on developing and applying state-of-the-art generative modeling techniques to critical challenges in materials science. The AI Scientist will work within cross-functional teams of ML experts, software engineers, and materials scientists to create and deploy generative models for unique materials design challenges. This position offers the exciting prospect of seeing direct impact of your work on real-world materials being developed and improved in experimental facilities. The core of the role involves designing and implementing advanced generative models, including diffusion models and flow-based models, along with sophisticated sampling methods. A key aspect will be developing novel architectures and methods that incorporate physics-informed constraints and domain knowledge, aiming to accurately represent and model materials across a broad chemical space for practical applications. The scientist will also be responsible for creating and validating datasets, frameworks, and methods for evaluating these generative models against experimentally realized materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement generative models (e.g., Diffusion models, flow-based models) and advanced sampling methods for materials design.
- Develop novel architectures and methods incorporating physics-informed constraints and domain knowledge.
