Zoo New England is seeking a part-time Darwin Project Grant Manager to oversee the administration of a four-year grant from the UK Government's Darwin Initiative. This role is crucial for the successful implementation of a community-based conservation project in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, focusing on recovering wildlife, protecting forests, and alleviating poverty through community governance. The Grant Manager will work closely with in-country partners, the Pakistan Environment Trust (PET) and Wildlife Conservation and Development Society (WCDS), ensuring adherence to all grant rules and regulations. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a flexible work environment. The role involves coordinating financial reports for the donor, reconciling budgets, and reviewing financial reports prepared by partner organizations. The Grant Manager will also be responsible for coordinating subgrant compliance in Pakistan and training partner staff on grant management processes. This is a remote, part-time position (approximately 10 hours/week) with an hourly rate of $34.85, starting March 1, 2026, for a period of four years.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure project grant administration is on track and meets all donor (UK Government, DEFRA, Darwin Initiative) rules and regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial reports for the donor and assist with reconciling budget-to-actuals.
- Review and approve financial reports prepared by in-country partners prior to submission.
